small groups

What is a small group? The short answer is that a small group is a gathering of people designed to provide community and help us become more like Jesus through study, service, learning, and just hanging out.

At The Crossing Church we believe developing and building relationships are key to sustained personal and spiritual growth. We believe it is important to be able to give and receive from others in the context of walking out our faith. That's why Small Groups are such an important part of our discipleship strategy. In a Small Group, we study God's word together and discuss the challenges of life. It is also where we pray and care for one another, and is a place where you will be missed if you don't show up. Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." (NIV) These groups are not for perfect people living perfect lives. These small groups are for real people who are imperfect and have a desire to have fellowship and learning opportunities with other imperfect people, growing together. Ecclesiastes 11:4: "If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done." (NLT)Our vision is to see every person, from the core of our church to the ever-growing community, connected in a healthy small group.
Practically speaking, there will never be a way for the staff to personally minister to everyone who attends our church. We are all called to "minister" and we minister to each other in Small groups. That's why we place such a high premium on group life; we would love for you to join us!
