The Crossing Children’s Ministry focuses on children birth to 6th grade.

Our goal is for each and every child to know God and His love, and to experience Him in a real way through the relationships they make with their teachers and the other children. If you are planning to visit us at The Crossing, please stop by the check-in desk in the lobby. We would enjoy the opportunity to get to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

Nursery: (birth – Pre-K)

Babies from birth through age 4 will have a chance to play and be taken care of in a warm and loving environment during the entire length of the service. They will sing and dance to Veggie Tales songs, read books with teachers, do imaginary play, color, and put together puzzles. Drop off your Nursery aged child before service and pick them up after service.

Pre-Kindergarten-Kindergarten: (Pre-K – K)

Children ages 4 to six will have an age appropriate Bible lesson each week that will involve floor time, book reading, story drama, outside play, and coloring. These kids will enjoy worship with their parents for the first part of the service and then leave the sanctuary to begin their lesson before the sermon begins.

First – Second: (1st & 2nd)

Children in first and second grade will have a Bible lesson each week that will involve book reading, discussions, story dramas, outside play, and coloring. These lessons will be more in-depth than the PreK-K lessons. These kids will enjoy worship with their parents for the first part of the service and then leave the sanctuary to begin their lesson before the sermon begins.

Third – Sixth: (3rd – 6th)

Children in third through sixth grade will have a Bible lesson, memory verse recitation, and fun Bible drills each week. They will learn their lesson through Bible reading, discussions, and various other games and dramatic means. These kids will enjoy worship with their parents for the first part of the service and then leave the sanctuary to begin their lesson before the sermon begins.

Youth

The primary focus of CYC is to engage youth, ages 12-18(6-12th grade), in searching for and discovering God’s will and purpose for their lives. Although we always have an awesome time through destination unknown’s, events, games, and building relationships, these are simply by-products of our main calling. We feel we are an intricate part of our local community. Our involvement and outreach to families in our area is vital to our ministry. There are endless opportunities to get involved and be a part of life changing experiences.

Make lasting connections.

Be encouraged, challenged and supported in your faith and day-to-day life. At The Crossing Church we believe developing and building relationships are key to sustained personal and spiritual growth. It is important to be able to give and receive from others in the context of walking out our faith. That’s why small groups are such an important part of our discipleship strategy.

What is a small group? The short answer is that a small group is a gathering of people designed to provide community and help us become more like Jesus through study, service, learning, and just hanging out.

In a small group, we study God’s word together and discuss the challenges of life. It is also where we pray and care for one another. Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”  These groups are not for perfect people living perfect lives. These small groups are for real people who have a desire to have fellowship and learning opportunities with others, growing together. Our vision is to see every person, from the core of our church to the ever-growing community, connected in a healthy small group.

Our small groups come together by commonalities or location, and typically range from 5-12 people. Our favorite small group quote is, “We do life together.” Want to connect and grow?
